Sunday Activities – 4th Sunday of the Month, 10 am to 12 Noon, March to November.

Wednesday Morning Activities – Most Wednesdays, anytime between 8 am to 12 Noon.

You don’t have to stay for the entire session – even an hour of your time would make a valuable contribution to the Yarra Valley Park environment.

Parks Victoria Requirements: Since we work on Parks Victoria land, you have obligations to create your ParkConnect account and to have a Working-with-Children-Check. For details, read About ParkConnect and the Working With Children Check (200 Kb PDF).

On the day: Bring your own drinking water, and maybe some nibbles for yourself. You will need old clothes and sturdy shoes, gardening gloves, a parka, hat and sunscreen, and a water bottle. Wear long pants. You may also like to bring insect repellent. Maybe stay afterwards and join us for a chat and BYO cuppa.

COVID-19 Precautions: Carry a fitted mask. We are working outside so you won’t have to wear the mask unless you cannot maintain 1.5m separation in non-family-group situations. You are encouraged to bring your own hand sanitiser and to practice good hygiene.

Wednesday Mornings – Westerfolds Manor Native Garden, Westerfolds Park

Most Wednesdays, anytime between 8 am to 12 Noon. You don’t have to stay for the entire session.

Come and see many different native species and help with planting, weeding, mulching and pruning.
BYO thermos and nibbles for morning tea.

Then walk along the middle path slightly up the hill until you see the large Manor building (see this map). Sunday 22 September 2024 – 10 am to 12 Noon – Bonds Rd South, Lower Plenty (Mel 33 A3)

Maintenance of a previous planting. Park at the end of Bonds Road (‘What3words’ https://w3w.co/care.smile.gosh) and walk west along the Main Yarra Trail following our signs. At the first bend, follow the sign to the right. Bring your favourite weeding tool if you have one. If not, tools will be provided. Optional chat afterwards with BYO cuppa & nibbles.

Sunday 27 October 2024 – 10 am to 12 Noon – Westerfolds Park, Templestowe (Mel 33 E1)

We will be removing woven plastic weed mats left after planting decades ago. Park at ‘What-3-words’ location is https://w3w.co/door.simply.storm (Enter Westerfolds Park from Fitzsimons Lane. Veer right and continue past the Parks office then turn left at the roundabout. Follow signs to Manna Gum car park. It’s as far as you can drive.) Then follow temporary signs across the creek and then right. A mattock and box cutter/Stanley knife would be handy, but tools will be provided.

Sunday 24 November 2024 – 10 am to 12 Noon – Walk at Glynns Reserve, North Warrandyte (Mel 23 A10)

Park at the end of Glynns Road, accessed from the Research-Warrandyte Road at ‘What-3-words’ location https://w3w.co/happy.front.relate Don’t be late. We will take a pleasant walk near the Yarra where we worked decades ago. The walk ends across the river from the tunnel at Pound Bend. Bring a picnic for lunch afterwards if you wish. Bring a folding chair.
